About Bison Wealth

Empowering individuals and families to build a lasting legacy.

Our Culture

We created Bison with a vision that families benefit from 3 simple concepts.  Plan, Protect, and Prosper. Bison was founded by The Terry and Kim Pegula Family Office known as East Asset Management in conjunction with operating partner Teton Capital Partners founded by Brad Ball and his team of executives.

As Terry Pegula rose from petroleum engineer to Billionaire Oil and Gas Entrepreneur, Philanthropist, and Professional Sports Team Owner the family was amazed to see all the products, services, and capabilities that became available to them. Bison seeks to make these family office tools available to Bison clients.

Private Wealth Advisor and Partner

QTR Orlando, FL

Chad Hunter is a Director and Private Wealth Advisor within QTR Family Wealth in Orlando. Chad provides in-depth advice and guidance to wealth creators and their families, helping them deploy their wealth more intentionally and strategically. A veteran Advisor, he is closely attuned to the distinctive issues that ultra-high-net-worth clients encounter, adapting his approach to the particular circumstances of each relationship.

Clients look to Chad for assistance in streamlining complex balance sheets while enacting a more unified approach to multiple aspects of their financial lives: pre- and post-liquidity event strategies, business succession strategies, long-term planning, tailored investment management, trust and estate planning services, and access to structured lending through partnered banks. Having guided a number of entrepreneurs, business owners, and executives through significant inflection points in their wealth, Chad is adept at sharing best practices for an accomplished clientele. He has particular depth in helping clients lay out methodical steps toward monetizing their businesses, ultimately striving to make work optional for the clients he serves.

Chad began his wealth management career in 2006 at Wachovia Securities. Two years later, he joined his brother and lifetime mentor, Wes, to form what was previously known as the Hunter Group. Chad is a proud graduate of Lafayette College in Pennsylvania where he earned his undergraduate degree in Business and Economics and was a member of the football team. For three consecutive years, Lafayette won the Patriot League championships, with Chad earning honors on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

Committed to bringing clients forward-thinking ideas, Chad has earned a number of esteemed industry designations. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER CFP® certification, awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) designation, and the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) designation.

A native of Orlando who was raised with Wes by a single mother, Chad is committed to the well-being of the wider community. He supports a number of charitable organizations, including the Central Florida Boys and Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity, Second Harvest Food Bank, and cancer research and patient-support organizations — particularly those that have been instrumental to his family and friends.

In his time off, Chad enjoys spending time with his family – partner, Rachel, and daughter, Mia.  Chad enjoys playing golf and traveling.  In 2020 he achieved a lifelong dream – summiting  Mount Kilimanjaro in 2020.
