About Bison Wealth

Empowering individuals and families to build a lasting legacy.

Our Culture

We created Bison with a vision that families benefit from 3 simple concepts.  Plan, Protect, and Prosper. Bison was founded by The Terry and Kim Pegula Family Office known as East Asset Management in conjunction with operating partner Teton Capital Partners founded by Brad Ball and his team of executives.

As Terry Pegula rose from petroleum engineer to Billionaire Oil and Gas Entrepreneur, Philanthropist, and Professional Sports Team Owner the family was amazed to see all the products, services, and capabilities that became available to them. Bison seeks to make these family office tools available to Bison clients.

Mitsy Mangum

Director

Metro Atlanta, GA

Mitsy brings more than 30 years of industry experience as a financial advisor with roots in both trading and consulting for both individuals and institutions. Mitsy currently sits on the Foundation Board of the College of Charleston. She is also on the advisory board to the School of Business Investment Program at the College of Charleston and at Mercer University in Athens. As Commencement Speaker, Mitsy received her Honorary Doctorate from the College of Charleston in 2019.

Due to her trading background, she has extensive knowledge of the equity markets as well as the options markets. All of her life, she played sports including volleyball in college and multiple sports in high school. Sports have always been important to Mitsy, with valuable lessons learned such as how to be a team player and how to work together for the success of the team. She brings those learnings to Bison Wealth, working with and listening to client needs while treating each client as captain of the team.

Our firm’s process is a marathon, not a sprint, and a key differentiator to why she joined. With previous experience at Smith Barney, she has found that working with Bison promotes a team environment (and there is no “I” in team). She finds that listening is the most important part of her job.
