Investments

Most financial plans work well until the environment changes. Our portfolios are built with the expectation that things will change but the plan will still succeed. By continuously evaluating vulnerabilities and failure points, we are able to identify future threats. This enables us to construct buffers and protections to help mitigate risks in an effort to achieve desired outcomes.

"It's not how much money you make, but how much money you keep, how hard it works for you, and how many generations you keep it for."

Investment Process

Bison’s investment committee is continuously monitoring the ever-changing economic, geopolitical, and investment environment to assess opportunities for investment as well as potential risks. Once identified, the research team seeks to identify or create investment strategies to best capture opportunities or defend against identified risks. Portfolios are constructed with the intent of being prepared for a variety of potential environments rather than trying to predict what will happen in the future.

Risk management is central to each phase of the investment process with the team constantly challenging their market assumptions, the validity of security selection, and proper mix of strategies with the objective of striving towards a defined investment objective rather than trying to “beat the market”.
